The Aikido Center of Los Angeles is dedicated to practicing Aikido and Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido as traditional Japanese martial arts.

The Dojo was established in 1974 by Reverend Kensho Furuya, Aikido 6th Dan and Iaido 6th Dan Kyoshi. Furuya Sensei was a direct student of the late Doshu Kisshomaru Ueshiba and trained at the Aikido World Headquarters Hombu Dojo in 1969. We are directly affiliated with the Aikido World Headquarters, Hombu Dojo Aikikai.

The Dojo is also the Headquarters for the Los Angeles Sword and Swordsmanship Society which is dedicated to the study of Japanese swords and the discipline of Japanese swordsmanship, Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido and Toyama Ryu Iaido.


To Join Our Dojo Is Simple & Easy

Please check our current Training Schedule and come to observe our training. You can ask questions of the Instructors after class. Sign-up only takes three minutes and can be done a little before or after class. You will need to fill out the simple application form and pay the initial fees. You do not need to make an appointment nor do you need to call the Dojo before visiting us. If you would like to verify the best time to visit, please do so by emailing us at info@aikidocenterla.com.
