Always Correct Your Mistakes:
It is always important to correct your mistakes. If you make a mistake, correct it so you can move on. If you don't correct it, you will always be stuck on it.
In learning, we often learn more from our mistakes than from our achievements. . . . What some people expect is "cheap grace" which we have discussed often before, - we always think that whatever we do, we expect everyone to automatically forgive us so we do not have to do anything at all. This is cheap grace. We only think of our own pride and not about others.
We must realize that our mistakes causes problems for others around us so we must apologize for all the inconvenience we have caused them. Sometimes we need to apologize several times to everyone. It is simply an act of sincerity and the act of someone with a big heart.
If you cause someone a problem, and you think, "Oh he knows I am sorry so everything should be ok." is not good enough. Sometimes, more than a mistake, it is to show your sincerity and heart to the others.
If the other person can think, "Oh, I can see that he is truly sorry," so we say, "Oh, that is ok, don't worry about it, it was just a mistake," then everything is finally ok.
In whatever case, if you do not learn from your mistakes, you will always at one point repeat them again.
To correct a mistake is to free yourself from the mistake.
Most people know how to criticize but very few can handle criticism.
Most people think that practice is about strength, talent and youth. NO, it is not. Practice is measured by comittment, perserverence, and devotion.
What is so wonderful about Aikido is that it can go far beyond and even out-grow itself. It transcends martial arts and violence and seeks Peace. Easy words to say and hear - please study this very carefully and seriously.
