HEAT

In this heat, be well hydrated, drinking water often throughout the day. Try to avoid being in the direct sunlight for long periods, Get lotsa rest and do not exert yourself too hard.

In class, let's focus on perfecting Ikkyo, Nikyo, Sankyo and Yonkyo - slowly, and clearly, with strong attention to the fine details of each technique.

However great our science and technology, we must always bow to Nature.

In the dojo, when it is hot, it is always very hot. When it is cold, it is always very cold. It is harder to endure as I get older, but it keeps me humble.

Hot and cold? - the humble bamboo ladle never complains constantly going from hot to cold water as the host makes a cup of tea for his guest. . . . .

Yonemochi Sensei, 76, during the recent seminar: "The hotter the better, I don't care. The more we sweat, the better the practice!"
