What goodness and wonder we receive from Aikido, we must pass on to others. Of course Aikido is about "victory" as all martial arts, but it has a higher duty to spread goodness to everyone. It is in the effort to bring good to others that we achieve the Ultimate Victory of all which no one can defeat.

What is this goodness? Nothing other than showing a caring heart to others. It has nothing to do with power, talent, money or success. To showing the caring heart is about the Individual himself, who he is whoever he is. . . .

It is very important to think of yourself and care for yourself, it is also important to realize that you are also your family, your neighbor, your friends, classmates, co-workers, the guy on the street. . . . .

DESTROYING ART

Today, I read about how workers painted over a great work of mural art in downtown Los Angeles - the Ed Ruscha Monument painted by artist Kent Twitchell. It has been in downtown for 19 years and is an important artistic landmark of the city. Yet, through careless bureaucracy, it was painted over. There is a suit initiated and they expect the damages to incur over 9 million dollars. . . . This gives you an idea for how important and precious this was. . . .

This is not the first time it has happened, we, in Los Angeles, have a reputation for destroying many architectural and aritstic landmarks of our city. This is a big shame and shows that we do not know, understand or appreciate art. . . . It makes me worry about our dojo sometimes. . . . .
